About

In early 2008 Tracey Lawrence and Juliana Eng became partners founding Lawrence Eng. Tracey Lawrence previously owned a gallery (established in 1998) that held a continuous series of group and solo exhibitions showcasing national and international artists. Juliana Eng has a long history of involvement with the Visual Arts in Vancouver, most recently as the Board President for the Contemporary Art Gallery.

The focus of the gallery programming is on work that is inspired by the strategies of pioneering conceptual and performance art, made contemporary by the infusion of elements derived from both personally and culturally specific explorations and critiques. The Gallery exhibits a selection of artists who have demonstrated a particular rigor in both the process and production of their art.

An expanding group of American and European artists are complemented by a core group of Canadian artists whose practices are situated within current art-historical strategies.

Located in a renovated glass factory near downtown Vancouver, the space provides opportunities for mounting larger exhibitions and for undertaking expanded programming in both the main gallery and the adjacent project space.
