Current Exhbitions with Gallery Artists

A solo exhibition entitled "Summerland" of a new film and paintings by Shannon Oksanen opens this Thursday night at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver and runs until January 18th, 2009.

Shannon Oksanen's work "little Boat" is included in "Tack and Jibe," a group exhibition curated by Michael Darling at the Seattle Art Museum running from November 21 until May 4th, 2009.

Arcadia University Art Gallery, Glenside PA is presenting new work by Lucy Pullen in a group show curated by Sheryl Conkelton called "A Closer Look 7;" to December 21, 2008.

Works by Shannon Oksanen and Ron Tran are included in "Thermostat: Video and the Pacific Northwest" curated by Michael Darling at the Seattle Art Museum, to February 5, 2009.


Upcoming Exhibitions with Gallery Artists

Kim Kennedy Austin's work will be in LOCAL, an exhibit of 22 artists curated by Lee Plested taking place in the offices of Fillip on the corner of Cordova and Cambie during the first two weekends of December.

Opening January 16th at Temple Bar Gallery in Dublin is Volume 5, the fifth installment of an ongoing series of shows dealing with sound. The fifth show in the series focuses on sound as it relates to memory and text and features work by Peter Maybury & David Donohoe (Ireland), Angela Detanico & Rafael Lain (Brazil) and Kathy Slade (Canada). Volume 5 is curated by Irish artist Dennis McNulty.

Work by Shannon Oksanen and Kathy Slade is included in "Celebrities of the Self" curated by Jordan Strom at the Kamloops Art Gallery. The show runs January 18th to March 22, 2009.

Kelly Mark's work will be included in the exhibition "Reframing Hollywood" at the California Museum of Photography at the University of California, Riverside, January 24 - April 4, 2009.

Lucy Pullen's work will be in a group show entitled "Blue Like an Orange" curated by Emily Palvey at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Ottawa, opening April 7, 2009.


Recent Exhibitions with Gallery Artists

Kim Kennedy Austin and Robert Arndt had work in "The Subject of Education," a group exhibition curated by Jonathan Middleton that brought together a group of Emily Carr alumni working along pedagogical themes.

Kelly Mark's solo exhibition "Stupid Heaven", curated by Barbara Fischer, was at Vox Contemporary in Montreal, September 6 to October 18th, 2008.

Vikky Alexander's solo show "Lost Horizons" opened at Trepanier Baer in Calgary on September 11 and ran until October 11, 2008.

Commissioned by Wayne Baerwaldt, Kelly Mark's six channel projection work entitled "HORRORIDOR" will be at Union Station the night of October 4th as part of Baerwaldt's Zone B exhibition for Nuit Blanche.

Kathy Slade was in the group show entitled "Hold On" at the Or Gallery. Curated by Jonathan Middleton. June 6 - July 12, 2008.

Ron Tran participated in the group show "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler" curated by Juan Gaitan at the Western Front. June 7 - July 11, 2008.
